We were introduced through a mutual friend – it was a random introduction, but it somehow made a lasting impression that led to us dating for a year and a half. It was a sweet, simple and fulfilling courtship. He flew me to Milan, where we took a one-hour train ride to Lake Como. It was cold, rainy day as we strolled along the Lake. Somewhere along the way, he knelt down in the rain with one hand holding an umbrella, and proposed.
I deliberately chose two white gowns to keep in line with our theme: one mermaid cutout gown, and the other a sweetheart tulle dress – both handmade from Danny L., a gown shop at Orchard Delfi. I especially love the tulle gown, as it was subtle yet classy, with the inner lining being made of glittery material.
We had a cream, white and fuschia themed wedding garden event that was made possible by Fiore Doranto, a trustworthy and amazing florist. All our guests were wowed by the amazing flowers for the night!
We wanted a fairy small, intimate wedding and made sure that everything was customised, from the choice of meals and menu cards, to the table setting. Upon arrival, each of our guests was requested to have their individual pictures taken – these pictures would then be placed next to their nametags on their allocated tables.
The garden event was followed by a semi-formal sit-down eight course fine dining dinner. Guests could choose between appetisers that included pan-fried foie gras and baked pesto escargots, and main courses such as grilled Wagyu ribeye steak and pan-fried lobster medallion topped with caviar. We put a lot of thought into our menu, as we wanted our guests to enjoy something different from the traditional Chinese wedding banquet.
Wines were imported by the carton from Italy, and we had a Dom Perignon Champagne toast.
exter surprised me by hiring a four-piece string quartet to play for my march-in. It was really sweet of him.
